Soil Seepage Study for New Home Construction – Parker, AZ

May 2020: Chris conducted a soil seepage and groundwater quality study to determine the source of unwanted water infiltrating a property where a landowner plans on building a new custom home. The site is located ~25 miles southeast of Lake Havasu City, Arizona & ~12 miles northeast of the Town of Parker, Arizona, & is situated adjacent to the Colorado River.

The study consisted of: 1) conducting soil percolation tests in three locations to the existing trenched area; 2) estimating water seepage fill rates in the existing trenched area; 3) collecting water samples from the existing trenched area for laboratory analysis of select constituents associated with typical human wastewater, and; 4) researching nearby depth to groundwater and water quality data from publicly available databases and reports. The data is being used to assist with future design and construction of a seepage collection and disposal system prior to construction of the new home.
